MEDIA RELEASE: Bruce Godfrey to Speak at 11/13 MSBA Solo & Small Firm Conference on Social Media Marketing for Attorneys

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Bruce Godfrey to Address Maryland State Bar Association Solo and Small Firm Conference in November 2010 on Social Media Marketing and the Practice of Law

Owings Mills, Maryland – October 14, 2010 – Solo practitioner attorney Bruce Godfrey learned today that he will have the honor of addressing the Maryland State Bar Association’s 2010 annual conference for solo practitioners and small law firms on the topics of social media and the delivery and marketing of legal services.

Pat Yevics, director of the MSBA’s Law Office Management Assistance program, confirmed today that Bruce Godfrey will address the November 12-13, 2010 conference, to be held at the BWI Hilton near Thurgood Marshall Baltimore-Washington International Airport in central Maryland, on effective and ethical management of attorneys’ online presence on social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and similar growing social media platforms.

Bruce Godfrey practices in Owings Mills as a sole practitioner with a largely blue-collar and middle-class clientele, serving clients with motor vehicle charges, criminal accusation defense, unemployment benefits appeals, Internal Revenue Service examinations and related practice areas for Marylanders and their small businesses. He is licensed in Maryland and the District of Columbia, and has built much of his law practice through his online presence including but not limited his social media presence. He took his Maryland attorney’s oath before the red-robed judges of the Maryland Court of Appeals on December 13, 1994, at almost the moment when “Internet” and “World Wide Web” became household words in the United States.

Bruce Godfrey achieved recognition in Maryland as an online political activist through his blog “Crablaw” and continues to be active online in Baltimore County civic affairs as Examiner.com’s “Baltimore County Liberal Examiner.” The Law Office of Bruce Godfrey in Owings Mills is unusual in that the “shingle” sign outside the office lists not the firm’s telephone number, but only the firm’s web address: www.brucegodfrey.com. Bruce is the father of two children, Sam (7) and Noah (5), and lives in Owings Mills.
