New Mentee of the Law Office: Sharnae Smith, Esquire

The Law Office is pleased to announce that the Law Office has a new mentee in solo practice. Sharnae L. Smith, Esquire, a 2010 admittee to the Court of Appeals of Maryland and the proprietor of Smith Legal Services, LLC in Bowie, Maryland, will be training periodically with the Law Office of Bruce Godfrey on issues involving labor law including assisting on certain pro bono matters handled by the Law Office.

Ms. Smith and Bruce Godfrey became acquainted through the Maryland State Bar Association’s Solo and Small Firm list-serv; the two attorneys will begin cooperating on certain labor law projects beginning December 22, 2011. The Law Office is looking forward to successful cooperation on unemployment appeals and other matters germane to both attorneys’ practices.

Bruce Godfrey joins The Black Law Network on invitation

August 18, 2011: On the invitation of Columbia, Maryland-based family law practitioner Dondi West, Esquire of DonWest Legal, LLC, Owings Mills-based practitioner Bruce Godfrey joined The Black Law Network.

The Black Law Network is “the first social networking site exclusively for members of the African American legal community. BLN was created out of necessity by a group of African American law students and attorneys.” While Bruce Godfrey is not African-American by heritage, the Law Office of Bruce Godfrey is grateful for the professional invitation and supports the goals of promoting the advancement of African-American attorneys in all aspects of the Bar and Bench.
